McKenzie in Buenos Aires, spoke at a panel on climate change at the
2008 International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference. The

status of carbon markets and trends; the legal frameworks at the
international and domestic levels going forward; and legal issues
involved in carbon transactions.
Mr. Slonimsky made a presentation on the legal issues involved in
carbon transactions with a focus on Emission Reduction Purchase
Agreements (ERPAs). The IBA conference dedicated a whole day of

and role of business lawyers in this crucial problem. Mr. Slonimsky,
who is a member of the Global Climate Change Practice Group of the
Firm commented, "We are delighted that we were invited to participate
in this high-profile event. As market leaders in the climate change
industry our lawyers are able to shape the standards of the practice."
